***Homecoming News Release***

Celebrating 102 years, the Kirksville Church of Christ's homecoming is set for Oct. 14-15.  This year's theme considers “New Testament Postcards” and features six guest speakers.  Events begin on Sat. at 3:30 p.m. at the meeting house at 110 Pfeiffer Avenue.  During this session Evangelist Wade Stanley will share thoughts on “A Postcard of Prayer and Gratitude:  Philemon” and Eric Owens on “A Postcard about Walking in Love:  Second John.” A meal takes place at 5:30 p.m. with recreational opportunities available in the free period. 

Wade Stanley is an evangelist presently working in northeast Missouri.  Wade grew up in the Kansas City, MO area.  In 2001, he graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a bachelor's degree in Music Education.  From 2001-2006, Wade served the Lone Jack C-6 Schools as band director.  He left teaching in May of 2006 to become an evangelist among the churches of Christ.  After two years of training, Wade was ordained in June, 2008, by the Smart Road Church of Christ in Greenwood, MO. Wade and wife, Janeane, have three children Rosalyn, Haden, and Arianna.

Eric Owens lives in Brighton, IL, and is a deacon serving the Prince Road congregation in Alton.  Eric was baptized into Christ early in life and began offering lessons from the age of 10 while assembling with the Chapel Glen congregation in Indianapolis.  Eric has worked in healthcare for over 25 years in the greater St. Louis area.  Eric and his wife, Rachel, were married in 1993 and have two daughters, Quinn and Avaryn.

After a meal, the Sat. evening session resumes at 7 p.m. with Nick Hermon presenting “A Postcard of Christian Fellowship:  Third John.”  Fellowship opportunities are possible afterwards! 

Nick Hermon is a 23-year-old graduate from Simpson College with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and minor in Marketing. He works as a graphic designer and image specialist at Tim McConnell photography in Indianola, Iowa. He grew up in the church of Christ and was baptized in 2014. His hobbies include playing sports, videography, and spending time with church family.

On Sunday, Aaron Kusmec will be the 10 a.m. speaker examining “A Postcard about Danger Ahead:  Jude Verses 1-4.” During the 11 a.m. hour, John Kusmec will share thoughts on “A Postcard from the Past:  Jude Verses 5-16.” A noon meal is planned.   Alex Huffman concludes the day in a 2 p.m. session “A Postcard about Perseverance:  Jude Verses 17-25.”

Aaron Kusmec, originally from Harrisonville, MO, graduated from Truman with a degree in Biology in 2014 and is working on his Ph.D. in Genetics at Iowa State.  At Truman he was active with Ekklesia Campus Ministry and the American Medical Student Association.  He is accompanied by his wife Chelsea.

John Kusmec is a junior Business Administration major at Truman and comes from Harrisonville, MO.   He is active in Ekklesia Campus Ministry, Lambda Chi, Blue Key, Bulldog Student Investment Fund, and sings with True Men.

Alec Huffman is from Carl Junction, MO, and is a member of the Church of Christ in Carthage. He attended Truman State University for his first semester of college before moving home the following semester to be with his family. He currently attends Pittsburg State University seeking a degree in Psychology, but is also interested in preaching.
